"Païva with lapis lazuli inlays" is a White Carrara marble fireplace with gilded bronze ornaments of a quite exceptional and rare model. The frieze, both legs, top and sides are inlaid with deep blue lapis lazuli, a highly sought after gemstone for its high ornamental qualities.
Louis XV style, this fireplace is adorned with decorative bronzes of great chiseling quality. The center shell from which escape flowering branches is made out of gilded bronze, as are the acanthus leaves on the jambs.
This fireplace comes with a gilded cast iron insert (with gold leaf) decorated with shells and plant foliage.
