The Noir Marquina marble quarry is located in the town of Marquina, in the Spanish Basque area.This black marble contains fossils traces and veins of white calcite. Sometimes it has very few veins, whilst it may be extremely veined in other cases.
This marble is one of the most popular international black marbles today. Frequently used for pavingfloors, the marble was also used a lot to create antique fireplaces, especially in France during the 19th century.
